May Fun Fly

And thus, after 40 days and nights of rain, the clouds parted and in the sky a strange glowing orb emerged to warm the air and dry out the fields. People emerged from their dwellings and saw the miracle bestowed on them and gave thanks by painting the skies with wonderful and colourful creations called kites. Young and old participated in the rejoicing as many different kites were flying in the celebrations! For generations this story will be told as the first flying day of 2011 was as beautiful as one could ask for. The winds were 12-15kms from the west. We had a small group out to the park, around 15. Some were in St. Thomas at the Strawberry Fields Kite Festival celebrating the miracle, and some ventured as far north as Thunder Bay for the Kite Festival at Chippewa Park. No matter where the celebration, it was a picture perfect day to fly.
